After Birth Care
Helping Your Family Adjust to Life with Your New Baby
Thank you for considering me for your Postpartum Doula services. It is my primary duty to help you and your family adjust to life with your new baby.
As a Postpartum Doula I support and nurture my clients in a variety of ways. I provide non-medical support, both physical and emotional. I also offer breastfeeding support and light household duties after the birth of your baby.
I believe what new families need the most is rest, nurturing, and support and I do this by providing that support where needed. I help families adjust to their new responsibilities as a growing family; facilitating newborn care techniques by helping you align with your natural parenting skills.
With postpartum support, the new family receives the chance to bond, ask questions of someone who is informed and non-judgmental, or to simply take a nap or a walk. The mother is given time for physical healing by having someone else take care of household organization and chores like laundry, light cleaning and necessary errands. If I am concerned about you or your baby, or you are concerned about yourself or your baby, I will recommend the appropriate resources.
I believe there are many good ways to care for babies. I do not enforce my own parenting style or imply that you should adhere to a specific school of parenting. I trust parents to make the best decisions for their babies and families and will help you get the information you need to make wise choices.
